NUKE Tutorial with Matt Cameron

We had a class on Friday with our invitation speaker, Matt Cameron. He specialize on compositing and visual effect who work at London. He also shared his knowledge on his work using Nuke and show us some of his impressive artwork. We start in the morning with some ice breaking talk when he told us his journey after graduate from DJCAD. It's start a little bit tough to get the right job but with the strong will he manage to join a big company in London.

We learn several thing in Nuke like how to roto paint and image using the node and merge different type of image together. At first, I kind of thinking that this software will be difficult to understand but with the explanation and tutorial from Matt make me enjoy this lesson and want to explore it more.

Here, I put several image of what we learn on basic introduction on using Nuke.

In the afternoon, he showed us the interface and start teach us on how to comp out a tracking marker with a plate from his short film. In the afternoon he show us to compose using Nuke for our going live project. He showed us how to use our depth pass to blur the background to give our shots like a tilt shift effect. He also add grain to the shot to make them look like a photo realistic.

Below is the result that Matt already got when he compose our shot 4 into Nuke and it look way more better than before with all the effect.

I start to enjoy learning this new software and we also decided to compose all of our shot in this software. So we start to compose using Nuke on Monday and it become more handy after I explore all the node and how to merge with all the passes. I will update next with all my composition that I already done in Nuke in the next post.

From Labis to Dundee

First Time

Away From Home for The 1st Time is Hard!

Hi, it's a first time for me to write on this page. I've now recover from my cold and flu that almost make me sick for 2 weeks (plus homesick because I never go too far from my family before). I've come from Malaysia and this is My Family with My Uncle's Family coming to send me at the KLIA Airport on 3rd September 2015. Our last goodbye before I fly to Dundee, and the most teary events for my family and me too.

( I really miss them so much. T^T )

( My lovely Parents )

Fresher's Week

I tried to be better as soon as possible because I want to go to every event in fresher's week and lucky me, I've have made to go almost 80% of the events. It's so relief after coming to Dundee I manage to learn the new culture and met with new friends from all around of the world. Dundee from my first impression is a great place to stay at all. They have a very big heart people and kind because they help me a lot when I was in trouble or lost sometime. I also manage to find new friends and having fun together here.
