Wolf Children / Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki

This animation also was directed by Mamoru Hosoda long before he produce The Boy and The Beast. He also had been directed two more a very outstanding animation, the Girl who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars.

The story is about a college girl who falls in love with a creature who is part human and part wolf. She ends up pregnant twice with him but then, the wolf man ends up passing away. She become a single mother with children that could be human and wolf in any moments. The story also more about the understanding to let go of certain thing, not just dead but children that had been grow up.

The main emotions I feel when watching this movie are respect, sadness, loss, tension, and anger but I also feel joy, happiness, and care for all these characters. It is so emotional watching the two kids grow up quicker and have their own decision to make.

The scenes are drawn nearly in 3-D images made to look 2-D to keep up with the characters which look hand drawn. The animation is incredible, both styles, and each scene works really well with the movie. This anime manage to add a beautiful slice of life with major fantasy elements mix together creatively following a single mother. This are all the element that she need to deal with raising a children and wolves but it mix well.

The effect of sunlight stroke through Ame wolf body show that his through feeling to become the real wolf and new leader of the mountain.

I like when they show this three character in a shadow silhouette and the yellow colour they choose for the curtains. It show how lively the three character and they have a very fun and joy life.
